yes you heard it right, the After Midnight music video is out now! It's kinda weird that none of the three mentioned it. At least Mark usually writes it on twitter if there's something new.
Anyways, here's the video:
click here if you want to see it in better quality
All I have to say is this:
Awesome song + great story + favorite band = Awesome video ;D
I bought a "new" CD yesterday. It's called Mit Haut und Haar by the german band Jennifer Rostock. Usally I don't listen to german bands, so it's something really special. I own over 70 CD's but only two of them are from german bands ;D Nevertheless I have to say that I love this album. It's definitely worth the money. And I think I will also buy their other albums .
I accomplished my mission today. It's kinda sad that it's over now. I was always looking forward to watch the movies on sunday morning / saturday night.
I couldn't decide which scene I should show you, so you get two this time: ;D
"Forth, and fear no darkness! Arise! Arise, Riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... ere the sun rises! Ride now... Ride now... Ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending! Death!"
- King Theoden
"Come on, Mr. Frodo. I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!"
-Sam
If I had to choose who of the characters is the biggest hero, I wouldn't say Frodo, Aragorn or Gandalf. I would say Sam. Without Sam Frodo would have never made it to Mordor (at least in the movie ;D ).
“I know. It’s all wrong. By rights, we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come and when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you — that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something”
- Sam
I fucking love these movies. I guess, my obsession with The Lord Of the Rings is growing again. :D
See You in the Showers,
Alina
P.S: One day I will travel to New Zealand, I swear to god! :)
I'm really bad at saying goodbye. Almost as bad as I'm at telling people how and what I feel. A reason why I hate myself. I do my very best to change it but it doesn't work at all.
Well, ...nevermind...
A very close friend of mine left for australia. And he doesn't know how long he will stay there. Last saturday was the last time I saw him and I already miss him.
He is one of the persons I trust the most and he's very important to me. I know him my whole life. We experienced so many things together. Good and bad.
And he is the only one of my friends who likes the same bands I like. Now I have to go to all concerts alone.
MISSION: To watch all three Lord of the Rings movies in three weekends of the month of December. You choose which day you’ll watch the movie for that weekend, at whatever time. (As long as you watch it, damn it.) The Fellowship of the Ring premiered on December 10, 2001. THAT WAS TEN YEARS AGO. Caps caps, caps all caps. SO. In accordance with the 90s kid’s (and adult’s) current despairing of their age and post-childhood, let’s torture ourselves needlessly even more. If you’re going to liveblog, post graphics, gifs, audio posts, touching “Harry Potter Lord of the Rings will never leave our hearts, thank you JK Rowling JRR Tolkien” messages, then do it. Use the #lord of the rings tag.
(stolen from Tumblr)
I think this is a good idea. So I will take part.
I've already watched "The Fellowship Of The Ring" this morning. I love the extended edition :)
I love going to concerts. Meeting other people who love a certain band as much as you do and of course seeing this band play live is wonderful. The moment when the band comes up on stage is incredible. To see these guys, you look up to and freak out everytime you get to hear or see something new from them, in person is just amazing. For me there's no feeling comparable to this. When they come out it's not important anymore how many hours you waited for them (I waited almost 6 hours in the rain to see Green Day live in Cologne) . I think I would spend all the money I have to see my favorite band play.
Therefore I spend way too much money on concerts, but I think it's worth it. Like my mother says: you can save your money and spend it later on material things, but if you spend it on a concert you have a memory for your whole life. If you buy for example a new pair of jeans for 30 - 40 bucks you'll have this jeans for one or two years maybe. But you will always look back on a concert and remember what an amazing time you had.
And I'm really glad that my mom thinks this way. For this reason she allowed me to go to concerts when I was younger. She never bought me concert tickets but that was ok. I wanted to go to the concert so I had to pay for it.
Ok, so here are the concerts I've been to:
Jun 22, 2008 Avril Lavigne (Mannheim)
Jun 30, 2009 Linkin Park (Stuttgart) Oct 5, 2009 Green Day (Cologne)
Nov 23, 2009 P!nk (Freiburg) Jun 11, 2010 Green Day (Munich)
Aug 24, 2010 blink-182 (Hamburg)
Mar 9, 2011 My Chemical Romance (Munich)
Jun 25, 2011 Linkin Park (Munich)
Sep 19, 2011 Avril Lavigne (Cologne)
It's really hard for me to say which one of these concerts was the best. But if I had to decide, I think it would be the blink concert. The Green Day shows and the MCR show were awesome too. Fuck every concert I've been to was fucking awesome, but the blink show was something special to me. Take a look et my earlier post "blink life. for life" to find out why ;D
In 2012 I'll see blink-182 in Frankfurt. And I'm already looking forward to it. :) But it's the only concert for 2012 so far and that's definitely too few for one year. So I hope for some more concerts next year. I'll be there ;D
All I can say is that Travis twittered earlier this month that they will film a video for After Midnight the next week or so. ;D
Wishing Well is one of my favorite songs from Neighborhoods and I think this video is really, really great. Especially from 2:05 to 2:23. It's epic.
And not to forget Mark taking a shower at 2:33 xD. They are still fooling around on tour and I love it :)
By the way: Is it weird that I'd like to be the camera at 2:29? haha xD
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
I'm re-reading The Lord Of The Rings and this is definitely one of my favorite parts of these books. It's part of a conversation Frodo and Gandalf have at the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring (while in the movie they have this conversation in Moria).
In my opinion this scene is one of the most important scenes in the whole movie. Because what Gandalf says about Gollum is very meaningful too, I think.
To quote the book (also at the beginning):
"He deserves death."
"Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends. I have not much hope that Gollum can be cured before he dies, but there is a chance of it. And he is bound up with the fate of the Ring. My heart tells me that he has some part to play yet, or good or Ill, before the end; and when that comes, the pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many - yours not least."
The Lord Of The Rings will always be my all time favorite movie and book. That's a fact. ;D
Damn, now I really want to watch the movies again xD Maybe I'll watch them at the weekend or so :)
I always wondered who sings the most songs: Mark or Tom. I thought Tom would sing a lot more than Mark, but I couldn't say why I thought so. I just had the sense that Tom sings more Songs.
So I made this list to see if I'm right. (And yes it took me some time but it was worth it ;D)
To keep it easy I ignored it when one of the guys only sings in the background of the chorus, while the other one is singing the whole rest of the song.
And I counted the songs, which are on two albums (Buddha & Cheshire Cat) only once ;D
I was rightI guess ;D Ok, it's really close and it depends on how exactly you decide if just one of them sings the song or both. But what this list shows us is that Mark sings a lot more on the older albums (Buddha, Cheshire Cat,...) then he does on the newer ones. And you can see that they sing a lot more songs together now than they did in the past.
If I made a mistake or forgot a song or something, tell me ;D (You can write comments on this page - no joke! :o xD)
